She explained that she had tried to scrub off the message, which had been written with a black marker pen, but was not able to erase it. âThat last beat,â Mortimer said, âwhen you see it on me you realize, âYeah, this isnât just a freak occurrence; this is all of our ends.ââ, Review: The high-end horror of âRelicâ chills to the bone. The mind, and more specifically its inevitable decay, is Jamesâ main focus in this family horror drama. Everything was just so exquisitely and beautifully made. Its body is quadrupedal with a sloping back. The last 10 pages or so of the script was so extraordinary and bizarre and resonated really strongly. But when it comes time to leave Edna to her fate and escape, Kay canât do it. Death is unavoidable in horror, but this film is rare in its decision to consider death not only through the lens of fear but with acceptance. I just felt, âOh, this is really audacious and wonderful.â I mean, I donât think thereâs anything more horrifying in life than watching someone you love die. The movie initially seems a horror drama but then with itâs slick and pinpoint metaphors become a greater movie than a regular horror flick.
